Spirulina powder is the superfood everyone is talking about, especially in relation to its detoxifying and anti-ageing properties.
Looking good and feeling great have been made much easier with the availability of spirulina. It eliminates toxins from the blood and lowers blood pressure. The result of this is a clearer complexion and the disappearance of fine lines.
Being a powder, spirulina is incredibly versatile so it can be enjoyed in smoothies, salads and salad dressings. Try spirulina in pesto, or in a soup or stew.
Spirulina has a wholly unique and complex flavour that is savoury, bold and with a slightly salty aftertaste. The aroma is invigorating, like breathing in the sea air is.
- Organic Spirulina Powder (Arthrospira platensis)
The high nutrient and antioxidant content of spirulina work both to nourish skin cells, destroy harmful free radicals, and repair cell damage. In this way, spirulina helps prevent signs of ageing such as fine lines, loose skin and wrinkles.
The nitric oxide content of spirulina is thought responsible for lowering blood pressure. This chemical relaxes blood vessels, improving circulation and the flow of oxygen around the body.
Spirulina is rapidly becoming one of the top health drinks. Generally, there are no health risks attached to taking spirulina powder, although people allergic to seafood and seaweed (nori) should avoid spirulina.

I bought the powder to drink, but then I discovered what a fantastic face mask it makes. Just as good as anything you can get from a cosmetics counter. I've also tried it with oatmeal as a face scrub with similar satisfying results
The best all-round tonic. My blood pressure has gone down since I started drinking it. I feel like I've got more energy. And it's a powder so I can add it to almost anything I want
The taste isn't that bad and when you think about how good it is for you then you can tolerate it easily enough
